<strong>MMA fighter, Sam Hoger AKA &#8220;The Alaskan Assassin&#8221; (8-4) defeated Patrick Miller (5-5) in the World Gladiator Championship&#8217;s main event on Friday night, April 9. </strong><br />
<strong> </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;"> </span></strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<div id="attachment_87" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 224px"><a href="http://www.drazathletics.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Hoger_in_shorts1.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-87 " title="Hoger_in_shorts" src="http://drazathletics.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Hoger_in_shorts-214x300.jpg" alt="" width="214" height="300" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">Hoger cheesin for the camera before winning the big fight on Friday</p></div>
<p><strong><span style="color: #b70000;">27: THE MAGIC NUMBER</span></strong><br />
&#8230; as in &#8220;KO by Hoger at 27 seconds of Round 1!&#8221; They don&#8217;t call him the &#8220;Alaskan Assassin&#8221; for nothing.</p>
<p><strong> </strong><br />
<span style="color: #e50000;"><strong><span style="color: #b70000;"> SAM HOGER</span></strong></span><br />
Hoger is an experienced fighter and MMA instructor at <a href="http://www.hogermma.com/index.html">Hoger MMA</a> in Houston, TX. In 2005, Sam fought for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as a cast member on the Premiere Season of The Ultimate Fighter (<a href="http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=tuf10.newsDetail&amp;gid=79252">TUF</a>) on Spike TV. He continues to train and compete regularly, and judging by Friday night&#8217;s quick KO, it&#8217;s clear the guy hasn&#8217;t lost his touch.<br />
<strong> </strong><br />
<span style="color: #e30000;"><span style="color: #e50000;"><strong><span style="color: #b70000;">RECAP: HOW IT WENT DOWN</span></strong></span></span><br />
Hoger told Draz Athletics, himself, exactly how he managed to KO his opponent in 27 seconds at the Texas WGC event:<br />
<strong> </strong><br />
<em>&#8220;My punches were lightening fast, causing my opponent to throw an odd head kick that missed me&#8230; I followed it up with a jab and a right head kick [which] caught him behind his ear and dropped him. I followed up immediately with ground and pound with hard, fast punches thanks to Draz Athletics and their Weighted Agility Gloves!&#8221;</em><br />
<strong> </strong><br />
HD Video of Hoger&#8217;s win along with detailed recaps and photos of all Friday&#8217;s fights can be found at<a href="http://www.thecagedoor.net/media/videos/wgc-fight-videos-from-april-9-2010-event-houston-mma-sam-hoger"> TheCageDoor.net</a>.<br />
<strong> </strong><br />
<strong><span style="color: #b70000;"> TRAINING LIKE A CHAMP</span></strong><br />
Sam Hoger is a proud endorser of the Draz Athletics <a href="http://drazathletics.com/about-weighted-agility-gloves.html">Weighted Agility Glove</a>. He trained with the gloves in preparation for his big fight on Friday, with winning results. He says:<br />
<strong> </strong><br />
<em>&#8220;At the beginning of my training camp my hands were heavy and slow. I needed to find a way to make my hands faster and lighter inorder to put my punching combinations together best. I tried using regular weights, but I found gripping them in my hand created an awkward feel. The WAGs provide balance and stability throughout my hand from my finger tips to my wrist giving a realistic, applicable feel. These help prepare me better for my fights. Thanks to the weighted agility gloves, I KO&#8217;d my last opponent in less than :30 seconds!&#8221;</em><br />

<p><strong><em>Increase Speed And Running Efficiency With the Weighted Agility </em>Glove.</strong><br />
<strong> </strong><br />
Here at Draz Athletics, we strive to create innovative multi-functional products to help athletes of all ages and stages of the game reach their highest performance potential. Our featured product, the Weighted Agility Glove, does just that.<br />
<strong> </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.drazathletics.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/DRAZ_HOGERSHORTS_0211.png"><img class="size-medium wp-image-42 aligncenter" title="DRAZ_HOGERSHORTS_02" src="http://drazathletics.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/DRAZ_HOGERSHORTS_021-300x123.png" alt="" width="300" height="123" /></a></p>
<p><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong>How Does the W.A.G. Help You Run Faster?</strong><br />
<strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #b50000;">THE SCIENCE OF RUNNING</span></strong><span style="color: #b50000;">:</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #b50000;"><span style="color: #000000;">Your lower body responds to upper body stimulus. Every action above the waist is countered below. Your hands and feet coordinate simultaneously, so a slow, weak, inefficient  upper body will be countered by a slow, weak, inefficient lower body.</span></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #b50000;"><br />
</span> </strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #b50000;">GO AHEAD, TRICK YOURSELF:</span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #b50000;"><span style="color: #000000; font-weight: normal;">Adding weight to your hands with the Weighted Agility Glove builds resistance as your feet and hands move together. When used for speed training, the W.A.G. overloads resistance to the arms. The removable finger weights allow you to adjust the amount of resistance. As weight is taken away, your body is &#8220;tricked&#8221; into moving faster.</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #b50000;">THIS IS NOT YOUR DADDY&#8217;S WEIGHT TRAINING:</span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #b50000;"><span style="color: #000000; font-weight: normal;">You&#8217;ve never had a training aid like this. Gripping an average dumbbell or weight is bulky and forces continuous tension in the arm. With the W.A.G, you can remain in a relaxed state, allowing you to build muscle memory and train more efficiently. Not to mention, you look cooler than the guy still running around holding dumbbells.</span></span></strong><br />
<strong> </strong><br />
<strong><span style="color: #b50000;"><span style="color: #000000; font-weight: normal;"><strong><span style="color: #b50000;">BREAK FREE FROM THE BULK:</span></strong></span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #b50000;"><span style="color: #000000; font-weight: normal;">The W.A.G leaves your hands free to run drills and focus on proper form and mechanics in your sports-specific motion. Because you are free to grip, you can catch, throw, dribble, pass, pitch, set, spike, hit&#8230; well, you get the picture.</span></span></strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong><br />
<strong>Stay Tuned! </strong>The W.A.G. helps with more than just running. More to come- drills and tips from top baseball and softball coaches on how you can Train Your Game!</p>
